Margarethe Hardegger (1882-1963)


Margarethe Hardegger who was the first labor secretary for the Swiss federation of trade unions wanted to make the world a better place. She fought against discrimination toward women and for social justice as well as sexual liberation; she covered for illegal actions undertaken by anarchist friends, pursued ideals of social reform and paid her dues in jail for assisting abortions.
